A sci-fi story by Marko Kavcic

It is the year of 2013. The world is controlled by the Macrosoft corporation.
It all started in a small garage somewhere in the USA. Little Willy Windows bought his first operating system called WOS (Wicked Operating System). Then he somehow got (bought, stole and copied) a computer operating system called he called Gates. It was the most unstable operating system in the world, except for the next versions. But people just loved it, because it came with solitaire. By the year 2000 Macrosoft became the largest company in the world. The internet was renamed to Macronet.
In 2001 has Willy Windows tried to take control over the United Nations and the whole planet by buying, stealing and making large donations, but failed. There were some things Willy just couldn't buy.
Then he considered an alternate solution. In 2002 the defense departments of the major nuclear forces and most of the nuclear powerplants were forced to upgrade their computers to Gates 2003, because all the other software companies were bought, sabotaged or forced into bankruptcy and could no longer support any of their customers. I do not need to tell you that all the nuclear missiles and powerplants were controlled by these computers. The plan was to launch all the nuclear missiles and cause almost every nuclear reactor to meltdown. Only Willy and a few of his men would survive in deep underground facilities powered by a small nuclear reactor. The world or what would be left of it would be Willy's. Fortunately Willy wasn't so stupid that he would destroy the source of his power. The end of human race would also mean the end of him and his beloved Macrosoft.
How to take all the world under his control without destroying his market was the only thing he could think about. Then he accidentally got his hands on a report of a little fraction of GrayPeace organization about how computers and especially Macrosoft programs make people stupid. That was it! He only had to make the human race stupid and addicted to his software and hardware. In the final phase of this plan all the people in our world would be controlled by their personal computers, network computers or advanced television sets, which would be controlled by Willy.
It took ten years of hard work to finish the job. In this year of 2013 the world is in the hands of Macrosoft. People stare at their screens and play solitaire 24 hours a day. They are told everything they do and they obey without thinking. Nobody can save them now.
