Matej Hrovat

...was brought upon this world in the year 1974. His favorite pastimes are electronic music composing, playing the piano (since '82, personal record: F. Chopin's "Minute Waltz" in 53 seconds!!) or synth and having strange delusions about being world-famous for it one fine day. The steps in that direction so far were but a few: Two STM modules, "StringFantasia" and "Aurora", broadcast on Slovenian radio station "Val 202" (on a computer music show put on by Joker magazine), a little synth concert in April 96, and several performances at SGBS Music School. Still, there will be more. Watch out for that CD coming out by the end of this millenium! As for the present, if you have a good sound card, do visit the Music Box.

He is also 3rd Kyu Master of Karate, little bit of a guitarist, keen on oriental languages, occasionally coming up with wacko drawings (examples here), even a student on the Faculty of Computer Science (University of Ljubljana, Slovenia) when he's feeling up to it. Plus other little hobbies too numerous to list.

When not engaged in anything creative or computer-active, he reads lots of sci-fi, preferably Stephen King or Terry Pratchett, and/or listens to practically any sort of music, from operas and madrigals through pop & rock to South African harmony singing, except techno stuff. Worships Vangelis, a famous Greek soundtrack composer, as the Sound God.

In Cyber-world he is also known as Aziraphal, which is but for one missing E (so it fits the IRC nickname standards) the name of the Angel of the Eastern Gate in "Good Omens", a fiendishly funny book by Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman. So if you want to know how the angel lent a hand in saving the world before he settled down and discovered the joys of Internet, get the book, and have a great time finding out!

This is his Web page. "Of course it's silly - it's supposed to be!" - Locus, review of Terry Pratchett's Pyramids
