Web site sponsors include Sustainable Development Online, a home page
on Chattanooga's sustainable development initiatives sponsored by a local
community network organizing group; Chattanooga On-Line, a local internet
service provider; and Lane Witt, a web site developer based in Chattanooga.
Chattanooga has made sustainable development a major focus of
its economic development activities. The city has been recognized by the
President's Council on Sustainable Development, which held one of its
four field meetings in Chattanooga in 1995. (Other meetings were in
Chicago, San Francisco and Seattle.) In May, Chattanooga will be the
site of the Second Annual Conference on Zero-Emissions Reseearch, which
will also be available on the web. Recent media coverage of Chattanooga
has included features in Audobon magazine, National Wildlife and Southern
Living.
